Octopus are often found perched on top of coral heads, and although curious, will quickly retreat into a safe hole once approached. Before grabbing an octopus, remember they can be negatively impacted by even our most sincere desire to touch and know them. Handling marine life - especially with gloves on - while once commonplace, is now discouraged by most marine educators.
